We answer support email within 2 business days. Please include your account email, whether you are a client or a professional, and — for a booking problem — the date and time of the appointment.
Status
The App is not yet published on the App Store. The Android version is in closed testing on Google Play. The App is offered in the United States only, and its interface is in English and Russian.
Getting Started
Signing in
Tap Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your real email address; the App works either way.
Becoming a professional
Open Profile settings → professional profile, purchase the monthly subscription (the first month is free under the introductory offer), then fill in your bio, your services with prices and durations, your working locations, the languages you speak, and your schedule. To receive payments you also connect a Stripe account through the onboarding link in the App.
Booking as a client
Find a professional, choose services, pick a free time slot, and confirm. You can message the professional in the App at any time.
Purchases and Billing
The professional subscription
The subscription is a monthly auto-renewable purchase made through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). It unlocks the professional role. A first-month-free introductory offer is configured; eligibility is decided by Apple or Google.
- Cancel or manage: iOS — Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Android — Google Play → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Charges, receipts, and refunds for the subscription are handled by Apple or Google, not by us: https://reportaproblem.apple.com (iOS) or Google Play → Order history (Android).
- Prices are the localized prices the store shows you immediately before purchase.
Paying for a booking
Card payments run through Stripe. We never see your card number.
Before the appointment, Stripe places a hold (an authorization, not a charge) for a deposit on your card; the deposit percentage is set by the professional. After the appointment, if nobody reports a problem, the hold is captured automatically once the review window has passed (currently 12 hours after the appointment ends). If a booking is cancelled before capture, the hold is released.
Getting paid as a professional
Payouts go to your own Stripe Connect (Express) account. Payout schedule, bank details, and tax forms are managed in Stripe, not in the App.
Bookings
Cancelling. Cancel from the booking screen. Depending on the professional’s cancellation window, part of the deposit may be captured as a late-cancellation or no-show fee.
Reporting a problem with a booking. Either side can file a complaint about a completed booking from inside the App. If the other side does not respond within 4 hours, the payment resolves automatically — a client’s complaint releases the hold, a professional’s complaint captures it. Answer complaint notifications promptly.
A charge you disagree with, after it has been captured. Talk to the professional first. If that does not settle it, write to contact@ownplace.net with the appointment date and what happened.
Notifications, Photos, and Permissions
The App asks for:
- Notifications — booking and message alerts. Turn them off in your device settings if you prefer.
- Camera and Photo library — only when you upload a profile or service photo. Refusing simply means you cannot upload a photo.
The App does not ask for your location. It has no location permission and does not read your device’s GPS. Addresses are typed in and completed through Google’s address search.
Reporting Abuse
If another user harasses you, sends abusive content, or breaks the rules in our Terms of Use, write to contact@ownplace.net with the details, including the date and, if you can, a screenshot. We review reports and may warn, suspend, or terminate an account.
[PENDING: реализовать — в приложении нет кнопки жалобы на пользователя, сообщение или отзыв и нет блокировки пользователя; сейчас единственный канал — письмо. Apple Guideline 1.2 требует внутриприложенческих жалобы и блокировки.]
Deleting Your Account
Profile settings → Delete Account.
When you delete your account:
- your account record and, if you are a professional, your professional profile and its services, locations, and schedule are deleted;
- upcoming bookings are cancelled, their time slots freed, and the bookings archived;
- your chat messages and reviews are kept but detached from you — they are reassigned to an anonymous “deleted user” so the other side’s history and a professional’s review history stay readable. Your name and photo are no longer shown with them.
Deletion cannot be undone. Records held by Stripe, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat follow their own retention rules, and we keep archived booking and payment records where we must for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes.
Cancel your subscription separately in the App Store or Google Play — deleting an account does not cancel it.
[PENDING: реализовать — удаление аккаунта на живом (Supabase) бэкенде не подключено; см. пометку в Privacy Policy, раздел 11.]
Requesting Your Data
Write to contact@ownplace.net from the email address on your account, with “Privacy request” in the subject line, to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of a specific record. We respond within 45 days and may extend once by another 45 days where the law allows, telling you why. We may need to verify your identity first. Your rights under California, Washington, Connecticut, Nevada, and other state laws are described in the Privacy Policy, Section 12.
Common Questions
Do you check that a professional is licensed? No. We do not screen, verify, or endorse a professional’s qualifications, licenses, insurance, or background unless their profile explicitly says otherwise. Ask for credentials before booking.
Who is responsible if a service goes wrong? The professional. OWN PLACE LLC is not a party to the agreement between a professional and a client. See the Terms of Use, Section 1.
Does the App track me or show ads? No. This release contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising, and no cross-app tracking. See the Privacy Policy, Section 9.
Is the App available outside the United States? No.
Can I use the App in Spanish? Not yet — the interface is English and Russian. These legal documents are also published in Spanish.
